What you'll need:
- Dragonfly Template - Choose Paint your own or Colour Template
- Scissors & Craft Knife (grown-up supervision needed!)
- Glue stick
- Paints & Paintbrush (If choosing to paint your own)

Step 1: Download & Print!
• Start by downloading and printing the dragonfly templates above [right click to download]. You have the option to print in color or choose the black and white version to paint your own dragonfly. Or you can create both!
Step 2: Glue & Prepare!
• Using a glue stick, generously apply glue to the back of the template. Make sure to cover all areas well.
• Stick the glued template onto the cardboard, pressing down firmly to ensure it adheres properly.
• If you are painting your own, go down to the bottom of the page for extra instructions!
Step 3: Cut & Glue!
• Once dry, carefully cut around the shapes on the template. This step can be tricky, so it's best to have an adult help with the cutting.
• After cutting out all the shapes, stick the sides of the abdomen together to form a 3D shape.
Step 4: Cut & Assemble!
• Using a craft knife (with adult supervision), carefully cut out the red centre on the dragonfly’s body and the little red triangles on the abdomen and hands.
• Piece together the dragonfly sections by fitting the parts togther. Put the abomen through the hold in the dragonflys body, add the legs underneath and the hands under the eyes! Make sure everything is securely attached.
Step 7: Play & Enjoy
Your dragonfly is now ready! Let your imagination soar as you play with your new insect friend, the dragonfly hunter.
Painting Your Own?
• Once you have stuck the tempate to the cardboard, Make sure to paint the patterns and colours on the pieces before you cut them out. Go crazy and have some fun chosing your favourite colours and patterns! .
• It doesn't matter if your paper looks messy as you will be cutting around the edges!
• Let the paint dry completely before you cut out the pieces .
